JavaScript - Web Based Game Development

As of 2020, 95% of the websites on the internet are built using JavaScript—that’s about 1.5 billion websites!

Why is JavaScript so popular? It can make a website look more attractive and engaging, and it’s also really easy and fun to learn! You can be as creative as you want and build a website that’s unique and beautiful.

JavaScript’s biggest advantage is its many uses. From double-tapping an image on Instagram to “like” a picture, to skip 10 seconds ahead in a movie on Netflix. In this course, you will discover the many unique ways to use JavaScript. You’ll be creating three JavaScript games, a snake game, an air hockey game, and a two-player fighting game. You’ll learn how to animate those games and publish them on a free hosting site.

The course is structured in the following way:

First, you will be introduced to HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

You will then take an in-depth look at HTML, CSS and JavaScript to learn how they work together in your coding.

Next, you will learn some important concepts necessary for game development before you then learn to create your first game.

You will then learn about the use of object-oriented programming in game development and will use this knowledge to create your next game. This game will also include the creation of basic AI that will play against you.

Finally, you will look at the phaser Java Script framework and its use for animations and character movement. You will then use this in creating the final game which will make use of multiple different game mechanics.
